Sunken Lines accepts unpublished poems, fiction up to 3000 words (short stories or self-contained novel extracts), and essays and reviews up to 3000 words electronically in MS Word or rtf format, on any subject.

We like poems that evoke a response in the reader, whether it be laughter, empathy, a strong image, or admiration of a witty line. No "muddying of the waters to make them look deep". Arty farty, po-faced melancholia will be treated with the contempt it deserves.

All artwork: photographs, paintings, drawings and cartoon strips are accepted in black & white and color for publication on our website, and for our print annual. If submitting artwork for our website, our preference is gifs or jpgs.

Be prepared to supply a bio and mug-shot upon notification of acceptance. The author will retain all rights and responsibilty for content.
